What We Do
The Marketing Association of South Africa – MASA – is an Association comprising of Marketers, and also those with a keen interest in Marketing. Through various efforts, they stimulate and encourage the connection, development and education of Marketers. Our members either occupy Marketing Positions or have Marketing as a central part of their business/position- therefore they choose to become individual members of MASA. Our Members are situated all over South Africa, and internationally.
Most of our Marketers already obtained one of our designations (CMSA, MPSA, AMSA) and those who have not yet obtained these designations aspire to do so. These designations are aimed at introducing and maintaining a minimum standard in the marketing profession. To ensure this, we promote the Continued Professional Development (CPD) of Marketers.
Our Association is recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a professional body for marketing in South Africa and the SAQA ‘stamp of approval’ is an indicator that these professional designations meet the requirements of the NQF Act. Through our designations The Marketing Association of South Africa is well-positioned to grow and develop Marketers- the talent and professionals who form part of a great eco-system. We influence/direct the Marketing Industry, which includes Partners and Stakeholders who contribute to our vision/guiding philosophy in various ways.
Our Guiding Philosophy is to engage, energise and inspire the Marketers of today and tomorrow by making a meaningful, lasting difference to the way our profession is perceived and practised.
Introducing Our Board
MASA is a Not for Profit Company. The driving force behind MASA is its committed and skilled Board of Directors- who are nominated by their peers and industry network to lead the vision of MASA. The board consist of a diverse portfolio of high-profile Corporate and Individual Marketers, academics, experts and thought-leaders, addressing a range of issues of national importance and strategic interest to the broad Marketing profession.
Our Board comprises members who possess a diverse range of marketing skills, experience and knowledge. Such a mix ensures that they are well-suited to meeting the challenges confronting the South African Marketing environment.
